How Waite Media handles your information
Short version: the only personal information collected here is what you type into the enquiry form, it is used to reply to you and nothing else, and it is never sold or passed on for marketing.
Last updated September 2026.
Who is responsible
Waite Media is a photography and videography business run by Gregory Waite, based in Bude, Cornwall, working across Cornwall, Devon and the wider UK.
For anything to do with your information, including any of the requests set out below, email greg@waite-media.com.
What is collected, and why
The enquiry form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, the type of work, dates, location and a message. These are used for one purpose: to read your enquiry and reply to it.
The lawful basis is legitimate interest, in the plain sense that you asked to be contacted about a job and a reply is what you were expecting.
There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no marketing. Your details are not sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own purposes.
Who else can see it
This site is hosted by Netlify, and enquiries sent through the form are processed by Netlify and then emailed on. Email is handled by Google. Both act as processors, which means they hold the information to provide the service and are not permitted to use it for anything of their own.
Where a booking goes ahead, the usual business records that follow - invoices, contracts, correspondence - are kept as any business keeps them.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months.
Where work goes ahead, records are kept for six years after the end of the engagement, which is the period UK tax rules require.
Photographs of people
Photographs taken on a commissioned job are used according to whatever was agreed for that job. Images of identifiable people are only published on this site or on social media where that use was agreed at the time.
If you appear in an image here and would rather you did not, email greg@waite-media.com and it will be taken down.
Cookies and measurement
No advertising or tracking cookies are set, and there are no social media trackers or embedded pixels.
If you accept measurement when asked, Google Analytics is loaded to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets its own cookies and records a shortened version of your IP address. Decline, or ignore the notice, and it is never loaded at all.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes the stored choice and brings the notice back.
What you can ask for
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being held, or ask for it in a portable form. Email greg@waite-media.com and it will be dealt with within one month.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
